Welcome to the Doctoral Studies (PhD) in Political Science and Administration at the Doctoral School of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The university campus is one of the most beautiful in Europe. Students study in English. The studies last four years. Students can write a PhD thesis in Polish or English. Each student receives a scholarship of approximately 2,700 PLN/month (approximately 600 EUR) in the first and second year and 4,100 PLN/month (approximately 900 EUR) in the third and fourth year. A doctoral student with a disability may receive a doctoral scholarship increased by 30% of the basic amount (before assessment). According to the announcements, from 2024 onwards, the scholarship amount should further increase by approximately 50-60 Euros/month. Doctoral students choose their research topic and supervisor independently. Depending on interest, the number of places ranges from 1 to 9.

Recruitment schedule for the Doctoral School at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn for the academic year 2023/2024

1. Registration in the IRK system 01.09 - 06.09.2023.

2. Receipt from candidates of documents conditioning the commencement of the qualification procedure 01.09 - 06.09.2023.

3. First stage of the qualification procedure 07.09 - 12.09.2023. 4. Interview for candidates with a degree abroad 13.09.2023.

5. Announcement of the results of the first stage 15.09.2023.

6. Second stage of the admission procedure 19.09.- 25.09.2023.

7. Announcement of the list of those accepted to the doctoral school 27.09.2023

The suggested topics are only general guidelines. It is best to contact the supervisor whose interests are closest to the PhD candidate's research project. It is best to do this in July or August so that there is time to arrange details and documentation. There is also an indication next to the list of supervisors who declare to cooperate on the dissertation in Polish and in English.
