Education and degrees.
Dr hab. Aneta Łyżwa is a graduate of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), where she completed full-time studies in Law at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration. In 2008–2011 she pursued full-time doctoral studies in the same field at KUL. On 14 January 2013, she defended her doctoral dissertation devoted to evidentiary proceedings conducted by the Police in cases of misdemeanours. On 18 February 2013, by resolution of the Council of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of KUL, she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Legal Sciences in Law. On 3 July 2020, on the basis of her scholarly achievement—the monograph “Human Trafficking: A Legal and Criminological Study”—she obtained at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn the degree of Doctor Habilitatus (dr hab.) in the field of Social Sciences, in the discipline of Legal Sciences.

Teaching experience.
She has nine years of experience as a university teacher at: the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), the Edward Lipiński University of Economics and Law in Kielce, the Police Academy in Szczytno, and the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn – Ełk Branch. She has taught, among others: Criminology, Substantive Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and courses related to combating criminal and economic crime.

Practical experience.
She acquired hands-on experience in applying the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure primarily during her service in the Police as an investigative officer: five years in the Investigative Division of the Criminal Department of the District Police Headquarters in Końskie, followed by five years in the Investigative Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Kielce. During this period, she also served, among other roles, as a member of the non-permanent team of the Świętokrzyskie Provincial Police Commander for oversight of explanatory proceedings in misdemeanour cases, and as a member of the non-permanent team for oversight of the correctness of actions conducted by Municipal Guard units in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

Additional qualifications.
She expanded her professional qualifications through, among other things, a full-time six-month officer training course at the Police Academy in Szczytno (completed with the conferment of an officer’s rank), numerous professional trainings (primarily with a criminal profile) completed in the Police, as well as **research study visits—including abroad—**carried out during her service at the Institute of Criminal Service of the Police Academy in Szczytno.

Scholarly activity.
Dr hab. Aneta Łyżwa is an active scholar, participating in numerous national and international conferences and academic seminars; she has also co-organized many such events.

Projects.
She served as a performer (researcher) on two scientific projects broadly concerning criminological and forensic issues:

• “Teleinformation forensic module supporting the detection of fingerprint traces on difficult absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces”, no. DOBR-BIO4/044/13011/2013;

• “Infrastructure, equipment and technical-legal procedures related to securing and storing so-called difficult evidence”, no. DOBR-BIO4/068/13187/2013.

Additionally, she was task leader for a research assignment aimed at maintaining the research potential of the Faculty of Internal Security, Police Academy in Szczytno:

• “Working groups in the process of detecting and combating selected categories of crimes”, code IBnPKiT-1/2015/P/AŁ.

She is the author and co-author of numerous scholarly publications in the field of penal sciences, including criminology.
