Dr Andrzej Gawliński
Doctor of Laws, criminologist, and certified suicidologist.
Founder and Director of the Center for Criminalistics and Forensic Medicine.
Vice-Chairman of the Warmia-Masuria Branch of the Polish Suicidological Society (PTS).
Since October 2017, he has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Criminalistics and Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (since January 1, 2020, in the Department of Criminology and Criminalistics).
He is a member of the Editorial Board of the PTS Bulletin and a member of the Polish Forensic Association.
He cooperates with the nationwide social campaign “Life Is Worth Talking About”, aimed at suicide prevention in Poland. The campaign is organized by the Polish Suicidological Society, the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the Doctoral Student Council of the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” at the University of Warsaw.
He participates in the meetings of the Working Group on Suicide and Depression Prevention under the Public Health Council at the Department of Public Health and Family of the Ministry of Health.
A promoter of science, between 2017 and 2019 he delivered 39 public lectures and 13 workshops on criminalistics at public and private universities across Poland (including the University of Warsaw, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Nicolaus Copernicus University, University of Łódź, University of Warmia and Mazury, University of Gdańsk, University of Wrocław, University of Silesia, and WSAiB).

He was awarded in the 18th Edition of the Prof. Tadeusz Hanausek Competition for the Best Annual Work in Criminalistics, and was a finalist of the 2019 WPiA UWM “Belfer” Teaching Award.
He is the author of several monographs and numerous other publications in the fields of law, criminalistics, and forensic medicine.
His research interests focus on issues such as crime related to suicide, cybersuicidology, the masking and staging of death, and the behavior of homicide offenders toward corpses to avoid criminal liability.
