Eurocrim 2025 in Athens, Greece

From September 3–6, 2025, a large delegation from the Department of Criminalistics and Criminology actively participated in the international conference EUROCRIM 2025, entitled Logos of Crime and Punishment, which took place in Athens, Greece.

The presented topics covered areas such as:

  • protection of cultural and natural heritage (Prof. W. Pływaczewski, Dr. A. Nowak),

  • the development of “green” criminology (Dr. M. Duda, Dr. J. Narodowska) and its potential use in the rehabilitation of prisoners within the Polish penitentiary system (Dr. hab. A. Łyżwa, Dr. M. Duda, Dr. J. Narodowska),

  • transnational Russian-speaking financial crime networks (M.A. Sz. Buczyński),

  • illegal firearms trafficking and organized crime (Dr. hab. P. Chlebowicz),

  • the use of artificial intelligence to support lawyers in preparing for expert witness examinations in the field of computer-technical research,

  • and the legal protection of victims of domestic violence (Dr. hab. D. Solodov).
