Manuscript preparation

  • Manuscripts submitted for “Civitas et Lex” should not be submitted for consideration to another journal, nor should they be published in whole or in part in another journal.
  • Before submitting a manuscript the author should make sure:

- his/her work is original.

- the title is appropriate for the contents.

- the subject of the research, and the reasons for undertaking the research have been appropriately formulated and stated.

- the assumptions of the research are appropriately formulated.

- the results are new.

- the language used is appropriate.

- the quoted references are adequate and sufficient for the area of research.

- the conclusions are correct and justified by the research presented.

- the abstract is correctly formatted.

  • Manuscripts should be typed preferably in MS WORD, using Times New Roman Font in size 12. Formatting should be limited to a minimum: namely paragraph indentation, justification and italics.
  • If the text contains atypical fonts (e.g. Hebrew or Cyrillic alphabet, logical, mathematical or phonetic characters) which are not present in a standard version of word editor or Windows, they should be attached in a separate file.
  • The length of a paper should be within the range of 25,000 to 40,000 characters including spaces and footnotes.
  • References should be put in footnotes following the specific rules, which can be found in the appendix (“Basic rules concerning footnotes”).  Download file (PDF format): „Essential rules concerning notes”
  • The manuscript should be accompanied by an English translation of the title, subtitle, key words and abstract (in total 150 words)
  • Author information should include: forename and surname, degree and scientific title, position and affiliation (department, faculty and university), detailed address for correspondence.
  • Manuscripts for the particular departments of “Civitas et Lex” should be directed to the Department Editors.
  • Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a „Journal Publishing Agreement”. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a „Journal Publishing Agreement” form or a link to the online version of this agreement.
