dr hab. Marzena Huculak

Born in Olsztyn, in 1965. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Department of Painting and Graphic Arts. Diploma in 1994 at Hugon Lasecki's Painting Workshop, stained glass annex in the Mural Painting and Stained Glass Studio of professor Andrzej Dyakowski. Since 1994, an assistant at Wyższa Szkoła Pedagogiczna [Higher School of Education] in Olsztyn, in the Professor Kiejstut Bereźnicki's Painting Workshop. 1st degree qualification, and then a post-doctoral degree acquired at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, now an assistant professor at the Institute of Fine Arts at UWM in Olsztyn, member of The Association of Polish Artists and Designers [ZPAP]. She practices painting, drawing, photography. The author of 22 solo exhibitions: in Olsztyn, Bydgoszcz, Cracow, Warsaw, Gorzow Wielkopolski among others; participation in more than 60 group exhibitions in Poland including, but not limited to: National Review of Young Painters "Promotions", Legnica 1995, Olsztyn Biennial of Visual Arts, BWA Gallery, Olsztyn, "Ex Cathedra" Lufcik Gallery, Warsaw 2002, National Biennial of Painting and Tapestry,  Tri-city 2003, 2005, Exhibition of Painting Drawing Graphics Sculpture, 2004, Tri-City; 7th Autumn Salon of Art, BWA Gallery, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski 2004; 33rd Photographic Confrontations, MOS and Mała Gallery, Gorzów Wielkopolski 2006; XXI Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting, Pomeranian Dukes' Castle, Szczecin 2006; X International Art Salon "Homo Quadratus Ostroviensis", BWA Gallery, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski; as well as participation in group exhibitions in Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine.

Distinctions: 1997 Scholarship of the Ministry of National Education, 2001; UWM Grant, 2003; Congratulatory letter from the Mayor of Olsztyn, 2003; A congratulatory letter from the Governor of Warmia and Mazury region; 2007 Rector's 2nd class Award; 2010 group award: the Mayor of Olsztyn's Hieronim Skurpski Award; 2012 Silver Laurel of the University of Warmia and Mazury.
