In his paintings, we can see symbol and a few chosen, meaningful situations.

The colours are vivacious and fresh, and the form is non-real, which multiplies the effect of ambiguous expression. The period is characterized by the joy taken from existing in world created by himself.

He loved music and literature and is in volvs in philosophy, especially the works of Goethe, Nietzche, Heidegger .

They believed that music is the true language of emotion. In The Birth of music and painting is the synthesis of the Dionysian and the Apollonian poles. Dionysus is the god of "the ineducable Art of music", Apollo of "visual Art". In his painting he articulates the conflict between the estatic primeval Dionysian experience of ancient cults, something above the individual and the later visual depiction of this state in his painting.

Art with its link between melancholy and merriment creates metaphorical consolation. This yearning for a metaphysical world and glorification of the tragic myth ( ancient, slavic and Prussian) is important for of his art.
