Competencies

Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Fisheries (formerly Faculty of Fisheries, up to 1970, and Faculty of Water Protection and Inland Fisheries Fisheries up to 1999) started its education in 1951. The faculty has full academic rights, i.e. possesses authorizations to grant scientific Ph.D. degree in the field of fisheries, and carries out post doctoral dissertations (Associate Professor) in the field of fisheries. Basic faculty activities are education and research in the range of microbial and animal bioengineering, biology, ecology, technical engineering as well as in spreading achievements of science. The Faculty maintains nationally and internationally recognized research programmes that address several aspects of environmental protection and engineering, fisheries and aquaculture. The Faculty is located within the University campus and is equipped with modern and technologically advanced facilities.
