On the 31th of March 2005, The Council of Departament of Biology UWM in Olsztyn confered Degree of Ph. D. on Lech Pietrzak. Title of thesis: "Effect of Urban landscape on caddisflies assemblages, example from Olsztyn and Złocieniec", promoter – dr hab. Stanisław Czachorowski prof. UWM, reviewers: prof. dr hab. Aleh Aleksandrovich (Olsztyn), prof. dr hab. Andrzej Giziński (Toruń).

In Poland these caddis don’t attract much attention on the part of the angler. They rarely fall prey to fish in running waters. The author has found only a few larvae in trout and grayling from the rivers Łosośna and Gwda (northern Poland), in sections with slow reaches. Of interest is the fact, that out of seven specimens in Gwda five were without the case. One swimming pupae was found in a pike caught in a lake. (...)
