Ghost-writing firewall

Meeting ethical standards in science is a critical imperative of our journal. We expect them to be met by authors, editors, reviewers and the publisher at every stage of publication.
To avoid ghost-writing issues, the editors require the authors to provide their affiliation and specify their contribution to the submitted manuscript in terms of the authorship of the conception, specification of key assumptions, selection of methods, etc. which were used to create the manuscript. The main responsibility falls on the author submitting the manuscript.
Ghost-writing occurs if a person has a considerable contribution to the manuscript and yet is neither mentioned as one of the authors nor listed in the acknowledgments accompanying the manuscript.
In order to prevent such practices, the authors are required to provide a declaration that their text is the genuine outcome of their own research. In the case of multiple authorship, the authors are required to determine the proportions of their percentage contribution in the creation of the text.
Ghostwriting is an instance of academic dishonesty. According to the principles of ethics, all discovered cases of such behaviour will be documented and disclosed and the appropriate authorities (employers, academic institutions, scientific editors’ associations, etc.) will be informed.
The editors and the publishers will endeavour to identify any cases of dishonesty and prevent publication if any allegations of misconduct are raised.
