Capacitance meter

More information soon...

Currently I construct the 3-electrode capacitance meter (CMTR-31) for application to the capacitance detectors for the FIA and for studies of membranes on a solid support.

Features of the capacitance meter:
  • element of the KSP measurement system
  • programmable controlling the meter
  • 3-electrode arrangement - working (WE), reference (RE), and auxiliary (AE) electrodes
  • working electrode (WE) connected to the mass
  • coworking with the Wenking type potentiostat and galvanostat
  • coworking with the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM)
  • working principle: convertion of capacitance to frequency
  • programmable polarization of the working electrode
  • amplitude of the measurement signal: 20 mV p-p
  • current charging and discharging the capacitance: 0.5, 2.5, 10, 50 uA
  • programmable selection of the current
  • autocalibration

Application of the capacitance meter for studies of phenomena in supported lipid membranes
  • measurement and recording capacitance
  • recording capacitance-voltage characteristics
  • investigations of the electrostriction phenomenon
  • investigations of surface potentials
  • studies of molecule absorption into the membranes
  • studies of adsorption of molecules on the membrane surface
  • studies of membrane complementar systems: host-guest, enzyme-substrate, ion-ligand, atibody-antigen

Software working with the capacitance meter:
  • capacitance recording
  • recording the capacitance-potential characteristics
  • capacitance recording with the programmable electrode potential
  • recording capacitance and mass (QCM) in the same time - under development
  • FIA measurements with capacitance detector (controliing solenoid valves) - under development
