Project co-financed with the funds of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014. Under the operating program PL04 "Saving energy and promoting renewable energy sources".
The project realises one of the assumptions of the program "Green University" promoted and implemented by Professor Ryszard Górecki, the Rector of UWM, prepared and submitted (in September 2014) by the workers of the Investment and Technical department of the UWM University.
Worth in total PLN 2,790,893, the project refers to the thermal efficiency improvement of teaching and administrative building of the University of Warmia and Mazury at pl. Łódzki 3 in Olsztyn. Built in 1952, the building is a frame construction with concrete and aerated concrete walls. It has 5 stores and a basement, with total area 6,400 m2. The building does not conform to current energy-saving requirements. It consumes and loses much heat. Neither the modern aesthetic standards are met. Since it is located in the protected area, the University will coordinate the façade design with the Conservator of Monuments. Also quality finishing materials and technologies corresponding to the solutions present in old Kortowo district have to be applied.
The project has been awarded the co-financing of its 80% value, i.e. the amount of PLN 2,224,714 from Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009-2014.
The works are planned to begin in mid-June 2015 and end by April 30, 2016.
