GRADUATE PROFILE
A graduate should have an extended – in relation to the first-degree studies – interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of international relations, particularly in the area of international economic, social, political and legal issues. A graduate should be able to analyse attitudes and behaviours of participants of political processes and their mutual relations and interactions with other subjects of social life and have knowledge and skills allowing him/her to make independent and in-depth analyses and syntheses of processes occurring in public life. He/she should know the theory and practice of international relations, as well as the theory and practice of political and economic decision-making. A graduate should have analytic and methodological skills, allowing him/her to be employed in positions which require conscious, rational and accurate assessments and opinions and should have instilled habits of personal responsibility and initiative. A graduate should have developed habits of life-long education and professional development and be prepared to take up research challenges and to continue education to the third-degree study level.

GRADUATE PROFILE
A graduate with specialization in biotechnology in environment protection possesses theoretical and practical knowledge concerning techniques of selection and targeted modification of microorganisms and cells of higher organisms used in environment protection; knows techniques of genetic recombination of microorganisms and possesses necessary knowledge on modern molecular techniques. He/She possesses the knowledge of importance of biomediation methods, biosynthesis of cellular polymers and processes of biotransformation of metals in environment protection. He/She can design bioprocesses, knows techniques and biotechnologies applied in industry for elimination of pollutions from wastewaters, making wastewater sediments harmless and soil bioremediation. He/She possesses knowledge in molecular techniques for detection of pollutions in the environment.

GRADUATE PROFILE
Graduates of the 2nd cycle studies, with a Master Degree in Fisheries, have the knowledge and skills which enable them to solve problems in fisheries on a local, regional, state and global scale. The acquired knowledge will enable them to improve fish breeding and stock material production. The graduates can also apply biotechnological methods in fish production. The objective of the studies is to educate high-class specialists – managers, who can run and supervise fish farms. The graduates are also prepared to work creatively as ichthyology engineers and managers, who will supervise fish farms, fish breeding centres and fish hatcheries; as representatives of companies which manufacture and sell fish feeds, fishing and fish processing equipment, companies which import and export fish; as ornamental fish production and trade specialists; as researchers in fisheries institutes; as experts on the proper application of biotechnology methods in animal production, employed in specialist laboratories and advisory centres; fish economy inspectors in state and local government offices. Graduates of the 2nd cycle Fisheries Studies know at least one foreign language well enough to communicate and to read foreign language specialist references; they also know methodology of conducting scientific research; The graduates are prepared to continue education at the 3rd cycle (PhD) studies.

GRADUATE PROFILE
This course, especially if taken part-time, can be chosen by officials already employed in  law and order institutions (e.g. police officers, border guards, military police officers, etc.), who continue their education having completed the 1st cycle studies in administration or similar courses. At present, there are no other options for such officials and many choose to study outside the University of Warmia and Mazury, in other academic towns, and enrol in courses connected with national security.
The major called Criminology and Related Sciences in Criminal Proceedings, as a 2nd cycle course at the Administration Studies, is an alternative option for educating specialists working in law and order institutions.
The studies can be carried out parallel for the 1st and 2nd-year students, i.e. one as part of ‘the foreign language curriculum path’ in agreement with the MRU in Vilnius (only full-time studies; two semesters of selected subjects in criminology, taught in English), and the other year as part of the regular education system, according to the same curriculum for full- and part-time studies, taught in Polish.

School of Medicine is running full-time studies – at the six-year Medical Doctor Program in English.
Medical Program (12 semesters) – with no specialization.
The university uses international education standards to prepare prospective doctors for medicine in the 21st century. The extend curriculum is based on strict European and U.S. standards and on integrated educational experience. All lectures, seminars and practical training are conducted in English.
Students have plenty of opportunities to join research teams in many academic departments, get experience in research. Studies of the Medical  Program are preparing to work in the medical profession. Student enquires the skills of interviewing the patient, examination, proper diagnosis and treatment of the patient and provide them necessary assistance.
During the studies, students gain the knowledge   and practical skills in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation which are necessary to practice medicine, further training and further research. Student learns the moral principles of conduct towards patients and their rights, rules of professional doctors co-operation and moral norms in medical research. Is aware of the legal and professional responsibility. After graduation student has theoretical knowledge and practical skills to practice medicine, also has opportunity to specialize in different areas of medicine.
After  graduation students will receive a diploma of Medical Doctor (MD), which allows for applying for a license to practice medicine in USA, Canada, Europe and many other countries.

GEODESY AND CARTOGRAPHY, MAJORING IN GEODESY AND REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL (STUDIES IN ENGLISH), II LEVEL, 3 SEMESTERS. THE FACULTY OF GEODESY AND LAND MANAGEMENT, phone: +48 89 523 45 04.

GRADUATE PROFILE
The graduate acquires the necessary skills and advanced knowledge in: technical sciences, geodesy and cartography. The graduate has abilities to manage teams, show creative initiative, make decisions and handle basic legal and administrative problems in business entities. The graduate has broader competencies in the scope of: contemporary methods for studying and modeling the shape and physical properties of the Earth, observation of their time-related changes, management of real estates and appraisal of their value; keeping a cadastre of real estates; numerical elaboration and presentation of results of geodesic, satellite, remote sensing and photogrammetric surveys; determination and registration of real estates and their status; the graduate has analytical, creative, methodological and negotiation competencies and understands the legal, technical and social foundations of his/her work. The graduate is prepared: to work professionally in geodesy, cartography and land information systems; carry out geodesic tasks from positioning objects and drawing their representation on maps to providing engineering and industrial services, or conducting satellite, photogrammetric and remote sensing surveys; prepare analyses and undertake actions regarding real estate management; use modern measuring techniques and the latest computer application to collect and process all types of information about land; assess the value of real estates and value of business entities; elaborate strategic documents dealing with real properties; prepare programmes aiming at improved competitiveness of towns, communes and regions. The graduate is prepared to work: in geodesic and cartographic companies and in related companies; in own geodesic or cartographic company; in local government or state administration offices; in business environment firms; in research and R&D centres. The graduate is prepared to undertake 3rd cycle (PhD) studies and research work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
The graduate has a right, having completed a three-year professional training, to take a state examination in order to obtain a professional license to start own company in the fields of: geodesic topographic, situation and inventory surveys – delimitation and division of real estates (land) and preparation of documents for legal purposes, - geodesic basic surveys, - geodesic services for civil engineering projects, - geodesic management of farmland and forests, - map editing, - photogrammetry and remote sensing. The graduate also has a right, having completed an adequate training as defined by the binding law, to take a state examination for real estate appraisers.

GRADUATE PROFILE
The graduate acquires the necessary knowledge and skills in: organization of management processes, real estate appraisal and management, conceptualization and planning of sustainable development of real estates, and shaping the spatial environment surrounding people in accordance with their needs conditioned by group polarization and mutual competition,  civilization demands, technological possibilities and spatial order principles. The graduate is able to formulate and construct models of spatial and economic phenomena; understands the essence of an organization and mechanisms is it affected by; knows the rules, regularities and instruments applied in management, is able to describe and analyze problems related to management, has knowledge of conditions, methods and instruments related to the regional policy of the state, region and the EU, can evaluate the land development planning context of a real estate; is able to apply the basic marketing tools for promotion of towns and regions, and knows the basic laws which govern land management; the graduate can analyze long-term trends in management processes and is able to estimate different kinds of value depending on the object and purpose of an appraisal; the graduate can apply the basic feasibility analysis tools in real estate investments and formulate adequate conclusions; knows the methods and techniques for financing an investment project concerning a real estate and can point to the key factors which determine the expected costs and future value of a real estate property; can estimate the level of taxes and fees imposed for various purposes on real estate properties; knows current concepts in real estate turnover and can define the role of a realtor on the real estate market and a manager in the process of real estate management; has an ability to analyze management systems on a micro- (a real estate), meso- (small land resources) and macro-scale (large resources) under the framework of sustainable development; can identify and evaluate economic and social effects of particular processes involved in land and real estate management; has an ability to create algorithms in the real estate development process; has and can apply the fundamental knowledge of land infrastructure information. The graduate is prepared: to assess the value of a right to a real estate; to predict and simulate different variants of land development using specialist models for this purpose; to serve as an advisor competent to create public and private cooperation; to solve spatial management conflicts or disputes arising in regional cooperation; to prepare strategies, plans and programmes aiming at enhancing the competitiveness of real estates and land resources; to manage the land and land development, including management of towns, communities, districts and provinces; to work out analyses and to undertake actions to ensure profitable and successful investment into real estate properties. The graduate is prepared to work in: companies involved in real estate management, including the ones which deal with real estate and investment appraisal, in development agencies, consulting and advisory companies, business environment firms, in own company providing advice in the real estate business sector, in research and R&D institutions dealing with real estates, in local and state government administration, in institutions disseminating knowledge on real estate and land management, and in the EU institutions and agencies. The graduate is prepared to undertake the third-cycle (PhD) studies and to pursue research work.
