The faculty educates future specialists in environmental protection and engineering, fisheries, aquaculture and food safety. Lakes protection and rehabilitation as well as engineering and biotechnologies related with them are the main fields of study of the scientific staff of the faculty. Other closely related subjects of interest are ecosystems of inland waterways, problems of inland fishery, and aquaculture, i.e. versatile water utilization.
