Large pale lager with no shadow... of doubt
As Deloitte estimates, the average Pole, which also includes members of the UWM staff, drank 97 litres of beer in 2018. Dr Andrzej Wesołowski is far below the average, although he has been dealing with beer very intensively lately. However, he has not done it for its taste values. -

Prof. Ryszard Górecki is now a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences
Prof. Ryszard Górecki, Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury, has become a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Prof. Jan Jankowski of the Faculty of Animal Bioengineering became a corresponding member. -

The 2020 Biologists’ Night
Enrolment has started for the Biologists’ Night; it will be held on 10 January 2020 at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the University of Warmia and Mazury and it will be devoted to the project entitled “The Warmia and Mazury University of the Young Discoverer 2.0”. -

They will use hydrogen and will provide phosphorus
In 50 years' time, the Earth will have run out of phosphorus, the main component of artificial fertilisers. Scientists from the University of Warmia and Mazury have developed a method for recovering phosphorus from wastewater and they are testing it on tomatoes. -

Our graduate with an award for young scientists
Dr. Karolina Nowak, a graduate of environmental protection at the Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture of the University of Warmia and Mazury (2004), currently a post-doctoral student at the Faculty of Geobiotechnology at the Technical University of Berlin, has received the LRI Innovative Science award of EUR 100,000. -

Prof. Dorota Grejner-Brzezińska, a graduate of the Academy of Agriculture and Technology in Olsztyn will become a member of the US President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. On 14 November, President Donald Trump announced his intent to appoint individuals to key administration posts. -

UWM preparing to offer studies in Psychology
The University of Warmia and Mazury is expanding its educational offer to include one of the most popular fields of study among the young generation. Starting 2020/21, the University intends to run a course in Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
