The motto that has accompanied the seminar for years is: “Students Associations: the School of Creative Activity”. This year, the students came to Kortowo between April 27 and 28.
“We have registered 850 participants – speaking and publishing,” says Marta Tanajewska, the chairwoman of the “Kreska” Students’ Association of Young Architects and Urban Planners. “On the first day, approx. 580 speakers presented their work. They came from all over Poland, from 56 universities, starting from Szczecin, through Warsaw, Bydgoszcz, Poznań, Rzeszów, Kraków and Piła. Representatives from Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Italy, Lithuania and Czech Republic also came to Olsztyn,” she adds.
The students presented the results of their work in 16 thematic sessions: humanities, pedagogy, political sciences, legal sciences, canonical and theological sciences, social sciences and arts, economic sciences, medical sciences, biological sciences, environmental protection, veterinary sciences, zoo-technical sciences, food-related sciences, land survey and GIS, construction engineering, technical and IT sciences. Additionally, sections were divided into panels. The seminar has an inter-disciplinary character. All papers were evaluated by committees composed of employees of individual faculties. The best received prizes.
“In comparison with last year, we changed the manner of work publication. We abandoned abstracts for the benefit of complete papers. Now, they are going to be presented in a publication with an ISBN number. This is a very important change from the students’ point of view,” explains Marta Tanajewska.
What is more, the conference regained its two-day character. After the end of the session and handing out of diplomas, the participants took part in a Cossack feast in a restaurant in Gutkowo. On the second day of the conference, they visited Olsztyn and the Castle of the Warmia Chapter.
Presentations of research results, combined with the picturesque Kortowo, provide the seminar participants with unforgettable experiences every year.
The organizer of the 44th International Seminar of Students’ Associations was the “Kreska” Student Association of Young Architects and Urban Planners.
