The Faculty of Law and Administration was authorised to confer the degree of habilitated doctor in the field of legal sciences. This means that it received full academic rights.
In October last year, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warmia and Mazury applied to the Central Commission for Scientific Degrees and Titles for authorisation to confer the degree of habilitated doctor in the field of legal sciences. The favourable decision was received on 25 May 2015.
‘The Faculty was established only 13 years ago, and it already has full academic rights. We are probably the only Faculty of Law and Administration that has obtained full rights so quickly. The credit for this goes, among others, to our employees, who have a very large academic record, publish many papers and organise numerous scientific conferences. The favourable opinion was also influenced by good international co-operation and exchange. One of the individuals who strongly contributed to our development was Prof. Ryszard Górecki, Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury,’ says Prof. Stanisław Pikulski, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration.
‘At present, we have around 100 doctors that will have to obtain the degree of habilitated doctor,’ adds the dean.
The Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warmia and Mazury was formally established on 1 September 2001. Since 2008, it has been authorised to confer the academic degree of doctor in the field of legal science (discipline: law). It provides education in the following fields of study: administration, law and internal security.
