    Queen of Kortovo – a lily straight from the university

    Queen of Kortovo – is the latest Polish variety of lily registered in the Royal Horticultural Society in London. It has been cultivated by Dr. Beata Płoszaj-Witkowska from the Department of Horticulture at the Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture.

The aim of the project is to make a better use of oilseeds in industry. Researchers from Europe are looking for alternative oils from plants which grow in our climatic conditions.

    A laboratory holding a certificate of good laboratory practice

    German prize for researchers from Kortowo

    PhD students MSc. Dariusz Tanajewski and MSc. Grzegorz Grunwald from the Department of Satellite Geodesy and Navigation at the Faculty of Geodesy, Geospatial and Civil Engineering of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn received a special prize in the competition of the German space agency DLR.

    Real victory: to win and be a mother

    To win against cancer is not all. For many women, a real victory is to win against cancer and be a mother. Tomasz Waśniewski, MD, from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn, is the first physician in Poland to conduct a surgery which gives a chance to be a mother to those women who have won against cancer.
