Qatari Centre of Agricultural Research, Studies and Training Al-Sulaiteen starts to cooperate with UWM. The researchers from UWM will help with developing agriculture in Qatar.

The authorities of the University of Warmia and Mazury signed an agreement on cooperation with the representatives of Centre of Agricultural Research, Studies and Training Al-Sulaiteen from Qatar, a country located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula by the Persian Gulf. The agreement covers carrying out joint research, exchange of students and researchers, organising bilateral seminars, publishing scientific papers in periodicals, exchange of publications, textbooks and books.

UWM will be represented by the researchers from the Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture because the representatives of Qatar wish to cooperate especially in the field of agriculture, animal breeding and designing greenfields.

President Ryszard  Górecki emphasised that the field of agricultural and nutritional science is the strength of the University of Warmia and Mazury and in this scientific area our university is one of the best educational institutions in Poland.

UWM is also an indisputable leader when it comes to educating experts in dairy industry – said Professor Górecki.

Khalid Abdullah Al Sulaiteen (in the photo the third on the left),  one of the representatives of the Centre of Agricultural Research, Studies and Training Al-Sulaiteen, emphasised that the concluded agreement is a beginning of long-term cooperation.

Developing the cooperation in the field of agriculture and animal breeding is our priority because we do not have experts in this field- he said.

Professor Krzysztof Młynarczyk, the dean of the Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture informed that the joint conference will be the first step of cooperation.

In March the representatives of the Faculty of Environmental Management  and Agriculture together with Professor Krzysztof Młynarczyk took part in the Agriteq agricultural exhibition in Doha – the capital of Qatar. You will find out more about it HERE.
