The “Bel Canto” Choir of Olsztyn, directed by Prof. Jan Połowianiuk of the Faculty of Arts of the UWM, won the 1st Prize from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage at the 39th International Festival of Orthodox Church Music in Białystok. Prof. Jan Połowianiuk also received an individual conductor’s award.

Marta Zawadzka and Dawid Dąbrowski, doctoral students at the University of Warmia and Mazury, are taking part in a project aimed at studying the biodiversity of aquatic insects. About 80 young scientists from all around Europe are participating in it.
