Members of EUROPEL will meet in Olsztyn

The University of Warmia and Mazury will host EUROPEL, the European Association of Dairy Teachers. The general meeting will be held in Kortowo on 5-8 February.

EUROPEL members include dr hab. inż. Justyna Żulewska and dr inż. Bogdan Dec (Member of the Board) of the Department of Dairy Science and Quality Management, Faculty of Food Sciences. These are the only Polish representatives in this association. EUROPEL brings together teachers and scientists from over 50 institutions in Europe. Its main aim is to support education and technological development of the dairy industry. EUROPEL also provides a platform for establishing contacts and for discussions on current issues related to the industry, supporting development and implementation of teaching and research projects.

There was a reason behind choosing the University of Warmia and Mazury as the venue for the EUROPEL general meeting. This September, the Department of Dairy Science and Quality Management is organizing an international sensory competition under the patronage of EUROPEL. The competition is addressed to students in fields related to the dairy science and to their teachers.

Decisions concerning the September competition will be made during the next general meeting in February. The following Members of the EUROPEL Board have been invited to participate in the meeting: Jappie de Jong, Van Hall Larenstein (University of Applied Sciences, Leeuwarden, Holland); Monica Cretu (The Agricol College Falticeni, Romania); Emilia Brezzo (AgenForm Agenzia dei Servizi Formativi della Provincia di Cuneo, Universita degli studi di Torino, Italy).
