International Scientific Conference MILCON’19 in Skopje

On November 12th, the 2nd International Scientific Conference on “Contemporary education based on ADL”, was organized by the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski”, associated member of the University “Goce Dolcev” – Shtip, within  RADLI Project (Regional Advanced Distributed Learning), supported by the Kingdom of Norway and implemented by the Jefferson Institute (USA).

 

The conference was organized under the scientific auspices of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communications of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Jefferson Institute and National Defence University College of Norway.Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia, higher educational institutions of the Balkan region (Bosnia and Hercegovina, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro). Active participants were also from the following NATO countries: (1) Kingdom of Norway - representatives of the Norwegian Defence University College - Hans Peder Mogensen, Geir Isaksen (2) USA – i.e. President, Jefferson Institute, Dr. Aaron Presnall, (3) Poland - DEEP ADL Portal Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and Assoc. Prof. Waldemar Mironiuk, Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, (4) Slovenia, (5) Hungary. This is Ms. Radmila  Shekerinska (Minister of Defence of North Macedonia) who delivered one of the key-note speeches during the plenary session (see in the middle of the photo). Another key-note speech was delivered by PT Piotr Gawliczek, on “Quo Vadis ADL?”.

 

Participants of the conference exchanged experience of implementing ADL into the educational process. During the event, the ways of improving the ADL implementation mechanism in the educational process were identified. Also, the parallel sessions were organized, focusing on: (1) the Virtual Classroom: Learning, New Tools and Experimentation, (2) Theoretical Background of ADL (3) Implementation of Learning and Technology.
