International e-learning conference in Kyiv

On September 27th, the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference on the Challenges of ADL Implementation in the Educational Process of Higher Military Educational Institutions and Possible Ways of their Solution, was organized by the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakhovskyi with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Norway.
 
Representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, higher educational institutions of Ukraine, leading world and national scientists took part in the event. Active participants in the conference by the partner countries were also foreign experts on distance education, including: (1) The Kingdom of Norway - The Military Attaché of the Kingdom of Norway, Lieutenant Colonel Boye Garder Lillerud; representatives of the Norwegian Defence University College Hans Peder Mogensen, Geir Isaksen, Eline Vik Vedde, (2) NATO - Head, Education and Training Technologies Section, NATO Allied Command Transformation, Paul Thurkettle; ADL Coordinator, NATO School Oberammergau, Gigi Roman. (3) Poland - DEEP ADL Portal Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, PhD (faculty member of Elk Campus Branch of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn), (4) USA - Director, ADL Initiative, Dr. Sae Schatz, Outreach Coordinator, ADL Initiative, Bojana Andrejevic; President, Jefferson Institute, Dr. Aaron Presnall.
Participants of the Conference exchanged experience of implementingADL into the educational process of higher military and other security agencies educational establishments, institutions of higher education of Ukraine. During the Conference, the ways of improving the ADL implementation mechanism in the educational process were identified. At the end of the event, the Agreement on membership of the University’s ADL Scientific Center in the Global Partnership Network was signed.
Also the parallel sessions were organised, focusing on such points as: (1) How to optimize online content for learning; Visual design in distance learning courses, (2) How to make it clear and attractive?; (3) Using H5P tools to create interactive tutorials in foreign languages; Practical aspects of creating interactive multimedia courses; (4) Digital Literacy - a selection of digital tools for educators (webinar); (5) Quick test questions creation tools for Moodle, Additional Features in Moodle; (5) ADL system of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
At the end of the Conference, the Agreement on membership of the University’sADL Scientific Center in the Global Partnership Network was signed.
