BA Diploma Seminar: Course description

In this course we will explore some areas in Cognitive Linguistics research. The topics will mainly include:

• Conceptual Metaphor Theory
• Metonymy
• Cognitive Linguistics in the first and second language acquisition

Topics and readings are by negotiation of class.

Key authors are, among others, George Lakoff, Mark Johnson, Charles Fillmore, Zoltán Kövecses and Mark Turner.
